Прямой налог
Налог, взимаемый государством с доходов и имущества домохозяйств и компаний с целью пополнения доходной части бюджета. Подоходный налог также используется в качестве инструмента денежно-кредитной политики. К прямым налогам относится подоходный налог (см. Income tax), налог на прибыль корпораций (см. Corporation tax), налог на имущество (см. Wealth tax) и взносы в фонд социального страхования. Прямые налоги входят в разряд прогрессивных - чем больше доход, тем выше налоговая ставка.
